PM – Santa Cruz Highlands Begin with a visit to the misty highlands of Santa Cruz, traversing agricultural landscapes into dense Scalesia forests. You’ll see giant tortoises grazing along trails and abundant endemic birds such as vermillion flycatchers and Darwin’s finches.

Day 2 — Thursday | Santa Fe Island & South Plaza Island

AM – Santa Fe Island Walk & Snorkel Visit Santa Fe Island’s unique cactus forests and jade-green waters. Walk through opuntia cactus groves home to endemic land iguanas, and snorkel in a calm lagoon where sea lions, turtles and vibrant fish are often seen.

PM – South Plaza Island Exploration Explore South Plaza’s dramatic cliffside ecosystem with red and green sesuvium. Encounter large land iguanas, tropicbirds, swallow-tailed gulls and the “Gentlemen’s Club” sea lion aggregation resting along rocky outcrops.

Day 3 — Friday | Española Island: Gardner Bay & Suárez Point

AM – Gardner Bay Beach & Snorkeling Arrive at Española’s serene Gardner Bay with its pristine white sands. Relax with sea lions on the beach or snorkel in clear waters where rays, turtles and reef fish swim among colorful coral and rock formations.

PM – Suárez Point Walk Hike across rugged terrain at Punta Suárez, one of the best wildlife locations in the islands. Witness blue-footed and masked boobies, marine iguanas, Nazca boobies and possibly waved albatrosses (seasonal) at cliffside nesting sites with sweeping ocean views.

Day 4 — Saturday | San Cristóbal: Pitt Point & Kicker Rock

AM – Pitt Point Coastal Hike & Snorkel Walk to the top of volcanic Pitt Point for panoramic views of the rugged coastline. Observe nesting seabirds including blue-footed boobies and frigatebirds, then enjoy a snorkel from the beach in sheltered waters.

PM – Kicker Rock & Lobos Island Cruise around the iconic Kicker Rock, passing between towering volcanic pillars alive with seabirds overhead and marine iguanas below. Continue to Lobos Island to watch playful sea lions and observe blue-footed boobies and frigatebirds at close range.

Day 5 — Sunday | San Cristóbal Interpretation

AM – Interpretation Center Visit Visit the Interpretation Center to learn about the Galápagos’ natural history, geological origins and conservation efforts. Exhibits cover native flora and fauna, ecosystems and human impact across the islands.

PM – Galapaguera Cerro Colorado Journey inland to Cerro Colorado to see giant tortoises in a breeding and recovery area. Learn about efforts to protect and restore these ancient reptiles and their habitat within the island’s unique highland terrain.

Day 6 — Monday | Bartolomé & Santiago: Sullivan Bay

AM – Bartolomé Island Volcano Walk & Snorkel Explore volcanic Bartolomé with its pockmarked lava fields and volcanic spatter cones. Walk trails above Pinnacle Rock, enjoy sweeping views, and then snorkel among tropical fish, rays and possibly penguins.

PM – Sullivan Bay Lava Walk (Santiago Island) Visit Sullivan Bay to walk across smooth pahoehoe lava flows. Discover how pioneer plant species colonize new rock and observe marine iguanas, Sally Lightfoot crabs, finches and other wildlife adapting to this stark terrain.

Day 7 — Tuesday | Santiago: Espumilla, Buccaneer Cove & Puerto Egas

AM – Espumilla Beach & James Bay Arrive at Espumilla Beach in James Bay, a nesting site for marine turtles. Walk black-sand shores, spot shorebirds and crabs, and enjoy views of Palo Santo forests and volcanic terrain.

PM – Buccaneer Cove & Puerto Egas Explore Buccaneer Cove’s eroded rock formations once used by pirates. Continue to Puerto Egas for a walk along tide pools brimming with marine life, including fur seals, sea lions, marine iguanas and reef fish.

Day 8 — Wednesday | Santa Cruz: Charles Darwin Station & Departure

AM – Charles Darwin Research Station Visit this world-renowned facility focused on conservation and scientific research. See giant tortoises of various ages, learn about breeding programs, and explore educational exhibits on the archipelago’s ecosystems.

Day 2 – Monday | Isabela Island
